Pediatric Cancer

The Pediatric Hematology Oncology Stem Cell Transplant Intensive Care Unit – also called Unit 4800 – treats pediatric blood-related diseases and cancers and is the largest of its kind in the Inland Empire. Dedicated to serving the specialized medical needs of children, from newborns to adolescents, diagnosed with cancers such as leukemia, brain tumors, and blood related diseases such as hemophilia, this 33-bed unit is staffed with a highly skilled team of healthcare professionals.

Our Nurses

The nursing staff is wholly made up of Registered Nurses (RN) who are chemotherapy certified and trained to utilize pediatric cancer trial protocols. Our nurses provide support for family members as well as care for the unique needs of the oncology patient during all phases of their illness, diagnosis, treatment, and when needed, end of life care.

Multidisciplinary Team Care

Patient care is guided under the expertise of a multidisciplinary team of physicians, residents, nurse practitioners, nurses, a clinical nurse specialist, educator, case manager, pharmacist, social worker and child-life specialist.  Every caregiver dedicates unending support to the patients and families during this most difficult time, sharing in both the trials and victories of the healing process, as they work to conquer this illness together.
