This department has five beds, staffed by registered nurses with specific pediatric dialysis training who provide and coordinate hemodialysis treatments for those with renal failure. Hospitalized children and those who come in on an outpatient basis receive their treatments in this bright and cheerful unit. Each nurse is assigned to follow the care and medical needs of specific patients during the months and years they receive dialysis. Staff work together with an interdisciplinary team, which meets monthly, to optimize the medical care of each child.
