Pediatric Neurosciences Team

The Pediatric Neurosciences Team is on the cutting edge of medical science and technology in the treatment of pediatric neurological disorders and traumatic brain injuries.

Despite advances in medical care, traumatic brain injury remains the leading cause of death and permanent disability for children in this country. Some of the other disorders include, but are not limited to, spina bifida which is one of the most common birth defects, cerebral palsy, pediatric brain tumors which are increasing faster than any other type of pediatric cancer, while one in every 200 hundred children will develop epilepsy.

Because of the complex nature of these disorders and injuries, the Pediatric Neurosciences Team enlists the talents and expertise of a vast array of pediatric specialties including, anesthesiology, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic, and general surgery, oncology, pathology, pediatrics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, plastics, radiology, and others.

This multi-disciplinary team develops comprehensive treatment plans that are individualized to each child's need while offering state-of-the-art care in an environment conducive to healing along side a reassuring staff attuned to the special needs of each child.
